Shure musicians who copy others can make it for a while, you could
get a record deal, and get signed by a major label, but in the
longr run we all have heard of bands who were copycats, and history
has forgotten about them! I think of the metal years and all the
metal bands in Los Angeles. In the eighties metal was the
musical style that ruled the world! Even Michael Jackson was
influenced by the metal world in his music and Eddis Van Halev played
the guitar solo to beat it!
Originality
is impotant, working on the songwriting is important. If you think
that tuning your guitar is uncool and practicing scales and rhythm,
then you might not make it. To make it in the music workd takes a lot
of work! Many bands struggle in slamm bars becore getting signed!
Even the Beatles did not become famous overnight! The Beatles had to
play smoky cubs in Germany and London!
It
is true that the music scene today is become more sterile than lets
say 20 or 30 years ago. Some young people don't know they were not
around at that time! There are a lot of good quality bands
today, but the record companies do not takes chances today
because the record sales are way down! Home music video on

In
the eighties you could fail having any good sales on your forst two
albums, and the record company would still believe in you talent and
you could experiment on different sounds and stuff! Now, if your
first cd does not make it, you are out! Ok anyone with good
music you can send you videos, if it is on youtube and i can add it
to the playlist. I do not know where in the playlist it is going to
be found, but if the music is good i add it!
