He was Moving Stone’s initial Jazzman of the year, and bassist champion of Playboy’s Music Award for ten straight years.

Ever seeking new challenges, in 1985 Stanley switched his never-ending creative energy to film and tv scoring. Beginning around the small screen through getting an Emmy nominated score for Pee Wee’s Playhouse, he advanced for the silver screen as composer, orchestrator, conductor and artist of scores for such blockbuster films as: Boys N the Hood, What’s Love Got connected by using it (the Tina Turner Story), Passenger 57, Greater Learning, Poetic Justice, Panther, 5 Heartbeats, Little Large League, and Romeo Must Die.
